No Meat Fridays. As reported in recent newsletters, the Bishops of England of Wales are reintroducing the ancient practice of Friday penance. All Catholics (including you and I) must once again abstain from meat products every Friday (commencing this Friday, 16th September) Why? To show to the world how important Fridays are to Catholics as the day Jesus suffered and died for our salvation. To help to recreate a common Catholic identity and serve as a collective act of witness. Please begin your No Meat Friday this week, the anniversary of the Papal Visit.

May God Bless Us All,
Fr Michael
