FIRST SUNDAY OF ADVENT

PASTORAL LETTER today from Bishop Peter.

NEXT WEEK ~ retiring collection for the S.V.P.

FRIDAY’s 8.30 am Mass will conclude with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and Rosary, as part of the Rosary Link for vocations.

PARISH FAIR. We go to press before the event but a big “Thank You” to the new committee and to all who helped. A special thanks to YOU for attending and supporting one of our major annual events.

“I DON’T BELIEVE IT!” The new Mass translation allows us to use the Apostles Creed on certain occasions. Taking advantage of this, we will recite the Apostles Creed on solemnities during the season of Advent, beginning today. So, ensure you have picked up your Mass card before Mass begins.

ENVELOPES. Have you recently ordered a new box? If so, it is waiting for you, nice and warm, on the heaters at All Saints Church.

PARISH DIARIES. Please hand your 2011 diary after Mass today to Fr Michael who will sign for it. Paper references will not be issued to parents this year, rather Fr Michael will inform the Schools Admissions Committee which children have qualified for a reference from him. Parents should hand in their completed supplementary form to the school, noting there is no need to attach a reference (even though the form requests one).

NEXT YEAR’s DIARIES will be available from Sunday 1st January for Catholic School admissions 2013. Why do we use diaries in this parish? Because the schools require a reference from the parish priest. Fr Michael gives references to children who attend Mass regularly in Bletchley. Diaries are a fair way to determine a child’s rate of practice

EXTRA MASS at 11 am on Monday at St Thomas Aquinas School including the blessing of Advent Wreaths. All welcome.

“WALK WITH ME”. The popular little books are here again with daily reflections for Advent and Christmastide. Only £1. Get yours today because we always sell out!

FIRST RECONCILIATION. Please pray for the 78 children who receive God’s forgiveness and grace in Confession for the first time on Tuesday and Thursday.

SENIOR’s CHRISTMAS PARTY. Invitations for the Christmas Party are available at the back of Church. The party will take place on Saturday 21st January 2012 and will be at West Bletchley Community Centre. The afternoon will include a Christmas dinner with refreshments, tea, cakes and entertainment. Please complete the forms inside the invitations and place them in the Christmas Box at the back of church. Places are limited and as a result will be allocated on a first come first served basis. A waiting list will apply once the limit has been exceeded. All replies should be in by 18th December.
