Newsletter: 25 December 2011

ON THE FEAST OF STEPHEN our altar servers gather in honour of their patron saint. Mass is at 12 noon at St Thomas Aquinas Church, at which all new servers who have completed one full year of service are present with a medal (and not a “medical” as reported in last week’s bulletin when our spell-checker was having an early Christmas holiday!). We currently have no fewer than 58 youngsters serving at God’s altar which must be a diocesan record. Many thanks to them and to those who supervise them (and there is always room for more!).

SVP THANK YOU. On behalf of the Society, and particularly those who benefit from your donations, I want to place on record our sincere appreciation for your continued generosity. Your response to our December collection, of over £800., is truly exceptional coming on the heels of over £500 in November. I ask for your prayers for the benefit of those in need. If you need help please either speak to myself (07743508627), anyone on the Parish Team or leave a confidential message on our SVP HOTLINE (07788796378). God Bless.

THANK YOU MESSAGE: Maggie, David, Liam, Danny, Anne, David, Cian and Fintan would like to thank you all for your continued prayers and love. Your generosity and support has been overwhelming and, as a family, and extended family, have been humbled by your love. All I have to do now, is get better! With love and gratitude, The Thomas Tribe.

NEW MISSALS (with new Mass wording) have arrived at long last. One sale at £9.99p or £16.99p for a posh leather one. Would make a nice Christmas present.

TODAY’s COLLECTION is your annual Christmas Day gift to your priests, which will be divided 50:50 between Fr Michael and Fr Joseph. Thank you for your generosity from your priests. It is our privilege to serve you with our ministry.

Precedence over the Sunday – readers please
