Newsletter: 14th October 2012

CLERGY SWAPToday the priests of your Pastoral Area are rotating!  This is good for the priest to experience a new congregation and church and, above all, it is good for the people to know we are part of the new Pastoral Area of St Martin of Tours, Milton Keynes South. Today we welcome Canon Dan Kiely to All Saints and Fr Ken Bowen to Winslow and St Thomas Aquinas.  Meanwhile, Fr Michael is at Buckingham and Brackley whilst Fr Joseph covers Woburn Sands and Cranfield University.  Deacons John Lovelock and our own Deacon Noel will stay on their home territory to assist the guest priest.

“MAGNIFICENT” was your response to last week’s Harvest/Outreach campaign.  Your Second Collection for CAFOD raised over £1,200 for the developing countries.  Your food items, donated in their hundreds, will go straight to needy families locally, via the Food Bank, and local outlets in Mellish Court, Serpentine Court and Queensway.  May I thank everyone for their great generosity which made this new venture such a success.  A great start to the new Year of Faith.  My thanks too to our wonderful hard-working SVP group who undertook the distribution of all the food items.
Thank You

PARISH BARN DANCE.  Saturday, 3rd November, 7.30 pm, Sycamore Hall, Water Eaton.  Great fun for all the family, although not suitable for very small children.  Tickets on sale next Sunday.  A barn dance is an ideal occasion to mingle and meet other parishioners.
