Newsletter: 20th January 2013

Midweek Mass Watch
Please note that, for one week only, the Wednesday Mass will be at 7.30 pm instead of 10 am at St Thomas Aquinas Church. Otherwise there are no changes to the usual schedule

SENIORS’ CHRISTMAS PARTY
Unfortunately, due to severe weather conditions, this event had to be cancelled. The good news is that this will be rescheduled in the Spring. Please ‘keep an eye out’ for further information regarding a new date.

SIGNING DIARIES
The new system is going well. Diaries are now signed at the time prior to Children’s Liturgy and not after Mass. If children are too young to stay in the liturgy, would the parents please bring them back into Mass rather than stay. After all, the Children’s Liturgy is a liturgy and not a crèche. Of course, parents are welcome to stay as helpers.

MAY THEY REST IN PEACE
Myrtle Hinds, late of Grasmere Way, aged 71, whose funeral service is on Monday at 2.45 pm at St Thomas Aquinas Church.

Peter McCloskey late of Newton Longville, faithful parishioner, former organist and organiser of the bazaar. Peter’s funeral arrangements are yet to be confirmed.

CAFOD ‘Bring and Buy Sale’ today after 11 am Mass at All Saints Church.

NEXT WEEKEND is EDUCATION SUNDAY, the day we traditionally celebrate and promote Catholic education. Here in Bletchley we are proud of Bishop Parker, St Thomas Aquinas and St Paul’s Schools.

SNOW USE WORRYING! It is reassuring to remember that it is not a mortal sin to miss Mass if the bad weather makes it impossible to attend. God knows it is not worth the risk of slipping on the ice and breaking a limb. Much better to remain at home, pray there and/or tune into Mass on the television or radio – EWTN is particularly helpful.
God is reasonable and understands.

CONFIRMATION PROGRAMME continues on Friday evening.
