WOMEN’s WORLD DAY OF PRAYER Friday, 10.30 am St Thomas Aquinas Church
This year we are hosting this ecumenical event so it would be great to see lots of Catholics there (here).

SAFEGUARDING.  Having returned from a training conference on this important subject, it is reassuring to learn that the Catholic Church is deemed to be one of the safest environments for children and vulnerable adults.  This results from strong strategies which have been put into place since the shameful episodes came to light.  This is great news.  However, we must not be complacent.  It is essential that we maintain good practice to enable the young and the vulnerable to be happy, involved and safe in our parish.  I would like to thank all our volunteers for their vigilance and especially Marie Day, our Safeguarding Rep., who is always available for advice and support in this area.  Creating a safe environment must be integral in all we do, inter-woven into our Catholic culture.

Pat Crisp, late of Devon Close.  I received the sad news this week that Pat died at the end of last week in Kent.  Pat and husband Alec (who is still alive) were regular worshippers at All Saints Church until they moved away a decade ago.  May She Rest in Peace.

EXTRA MASS FOR LENT ~ 10 am Saturday at All Saints Church followed by Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and Confessions. Why not do something extra for Lent.

NEXT SUNDAY Second Collection for CAFOD.
Bring your filled Family Fast Day envelope or ‘pop it’ in today’s collection and we will ‘put it by’ until next weekend.

RITE OF ELECTION.  Our four candidates met Bishop Peter last week at the Cathedral.  They are looking forward to being received into the church at the Easter Vigil.  Please remember them in your prayers as they enter the final strait of their journey to Catholicism.

CONFIRMATION CLASSES continue this Friday at the usual times.  Bishop Peter will Confirm you at All Saints Church on Wednesday 13th March.

POPE BENEDICT XVI Prayer Cards.  Please take your free card and pray for the Pope and the Church at this time of transition.

ALTAR SERVERS’ TRAINING.  Another session, next Sunday straight after 11 am Mass at All Saints.  All new servers welcome (from any of our 5 Masses), as long as you have made your First Holy Communion.

40 DAYS FOR LIFE Prayer Vigil started on Ash Wednesday and is ongoing outside the Acorn House Abortion Centre.  Anyone is welcome to join in for 30 minutes to pray for the protection of life and the love of God in this situation.(www.40daysforlife.com select Milton Keynes)
