SALE OF HOLY ARTIFACTS. On Friday, after the 8.30 am and 11 am Masses at St Thomas Aquinas Church, the Sisters of St Elisabeth in Belarus will have a small table with holy things for sale. They were here three years ago (if you remember), all to raise funds for their orphanage and psychiatric hospital where they care also for disabled children and adults.More info on www.obitel-minsk.by
MASS INTENTIONS. We print the list of Mass Intentions (the ‘pink sheet’) every Friday morning. If you want Mass on a specific date, you must have booked it by the previous Friday. Also, funerals take priority and may cause the Mass schedule to be changed at short notice; thank you for your understanding.
GEORGETTE PURCELL RIP. The Parish have recently received a cheque from Georgette’s Estate for which we are very grateful.
RETIRING COLLECTION next week for St Vincent de Paul.
MAY THEY REST IN PEACE.
Bob Healy, late of Buckingham Road, husband of Donna. Bob’s Requiem Mass is on Saturday, 9th of March, 10 am at All Saints Church with his body coming into church at 6 pm on Friday.
Errol Ray, also late of Buckingham Road, husband of recently-deceased Jo. At the time of ‘going to print’ details of the funeral arrangements are not known so please listen for announcements and be prepared for a possible rescheduling of the mid-week Mass times.
Both men were tremendous supporters of our parish for many decades and we will miss them.
Paulo Pilla, aged 87, late of Lennox Road, whose funeral is onWednesday, 12 noon at St Thomas Aquinas Church.
ANYONE WHO HAD A HART. Last week we bad ‘farewell’ to the White Hart Public House which has stood as neighbour to All Saints Church for as long as I can remember. It has been a ‘love/hate’ relationship, with fond memories of Christmas Midnight Mass: the volume of the carol-singing was often swelled by revellers after the pub had closed!
PS: Contrary to local opinion, we have never owned the White Hart Pub – why, on earth, would a church own a pub?
NEWS FROM WINSLOW. Fr Mark Elvins is currently in hospital, so we are called upon once more to celebrate Mass for the people of the parish of St Alban, which has been under our charge for some years now. Please remember Fr Mark in your prayers, that he may be able to resume his former duties soon.
40 DAYS FOR LIFE Prayer Vigil started on Ash Wednesday and is ongoing outside the Acorn House Abortion Centre. Anyone is welcome to join in for 30 minutes to pray for the protection of life and the love of God in this situation. (www.40daysforlife.com select Milton Keynes)
