A HAPPY EASTER SUNDAY

TO US ALL!

Fr Michael
My thanks to all who helped to make our Holy Week services such a worthy commemoration of the most important events in our salvation history.

Today we renew our Baptismal Promises during Mass and receive a blessing with the new Easter Water. Also, don’t forget to pick-up your ‘free gifts’ – one holy, one chocolaty -as you leave Mass today.

TODAY’s COLLECTION at Mass is your annual Easter gift to your priests, Fr Joseph and Fr Michael, who will ‘divide the spoils’ equally.  This collection, along with the one on Christmas Day, comprises the main annual income for your priests. Unfortunately the Inland Revenue class your offering as taxable income, so they will take their cut as they always do. We thank you for your generosity.

The Children from Redway School thoroughly enjoyed their visit to All Saints Church last week. The children have severe special needs and disabilities and we were overjoyed to accommodate them once again. Young Jacob, who is blind, particularly liked the scent of the incense granules and when we lit the thurible…well, he was well-pleased!

The Winslow Boys. With regret to inform you that  Fr Mark Elvins’ ministry at St Alban’s Chapel in Winslow has come to an end due to his failing health. We thank him for his assistance to us over the last year and a half as priest-in-residence there. Now, once again, Fr Joseph and I will be travelling over to celebrate the 11 o’clock Sunday Mass for the congregation there each week.

Mass for the Housebound with Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick.
All are welcome to attend this special Mass on Friday at St Thomas Aquinas Church at 10.30am (hence no 8.30am Mass that day).

Refreshments will be provided after Mass for everyone. This Mass replaces the annual Easter Mass we celebrate in one of our care homes.

Speaking of Annointing: Bishop Peter will visit St Edward’s Church, Shenley Church End on Tuesday 9th April at 7.30pm and celebrate Mass with anointing of the sick. All welcome

DIVINE MERCY FEASTDAY next Sunday 7th April.

3 pm – 4pm at St Thomas Aquinas Church with opportunity for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.  Refreshments afterwards.  All most welcome.
