EASTER OFFERING.  Many thanks for your generosity at Mass on Easter Sunday.  You gave £2,138. each to Fr Joseph and Fr Michael. Much appreciated.

SADLY, both your priests ‘went poorly’ on Easter Sunday and took to bed with bugs of one kind or another, lasting several days.  Thank heavens this did not happen the previous week or the Triduum might have been in jeopardy!  Hopefully both will be ‘fighting fit’ by the time you read this.

TONY, a parishioner, sent me this email last week:
‘Father, I’m sure I speak for the great majority of those who were in attendance when I say I wish to record how enjoyable it was to attend the children’s passion last week.  I’d be grateful if you could pass on my appreciation and thanks to the children themselves and those involved in arranging and organising the event.  Both the boys and I were deeply moved by the whole occasion and felt closer to God and each other as a consequence.  It was nice to be able to see the positive contribution that the younger members of the parish make and to reflect upon the story with beautiful music and wonderful performances.  I hope you are able to continue this in years to come.  Take care, God Bless – Tony.’
We are indeed blessed to have such a wonderful bunch of young people in our parish nearly all of whom attend the fortnightly Phoenix Group.  Our thanks to them all and to Paul and Cliona for organising the Young People’s Stations of the Cross.

SPEAKING OF WHICH:  Phoenix Youth Group meet this Tuesday (unusually in the school holidays).  7 – 9 pm at St Thomas Aquinas Meeting Room.  Your £2. subs covers your drinks, pizza and muffins.  We usually look at an element of our Catholic faith from an unusual angle, with a different theme each week.  All young people in school year 8 or over are welcome.
