BAPTISM PREPARATION MEETING
Do you have a new bundle of joy for baptising?  If so, please come along to the meeting on Thursday, 8-9 pm at St Thomas Aquinas Meeting Room, at which our procedures will be explained.  We do expect that parents are practising their faith if they are presenting their child for baptism.  Also, we ask that parent(s) provide evidence of their own Catholic baptism.

WEDDING BELLS
Blessings upon Anita O’Brien and Philip Smart who are to be married on Friday at All Saints Church.

MASS WITH SERVICE OF HEALING
Tuesday 3rd September, 6 pm onwards at Christ The Cornerstone, CMK.  Features the healing ministry of Alan Ames of the United States.

DIVINE MERCY DEVOTIONS
Next Sunday, 3 – 4 pm at St Thomas Aquinas Church.

PASSPORTS etc.
If you are anticipating renewing your official documents and require a priest’s signature as a referee, now is the time to contact us.  Our new priests will be unable to help as they need to have known the applicant for two years.  Fr Michael is more than happy to sign as many forms as necessary, so don’t delay, bring them on!   After September, Deacon Noel is very willing to be of service in this area as he will provide continuity during this time of change.

BAPTISM Welcome to Herbert Chitambo who entered the Church through the waters of baptism today.

COME AND SEE’ An invitation to Reconciliation and First Holy Communion 6.30 pm ~ Monday 16th September St Thomas Aquinas Meeting Room
This meeting is for those parents who would like to enrol their child in the First Holy Communion Programme.  This programme is for children living in our parish who are not attending our two parish schools and are currently in Year 3 or above.
The preparation will involve parents attending Mass regularly with their children.  The programme begins on Tuesday, 17th September and every Tuesday evening thereafter at 6 – 7 pm in All Saints Meeting Room. For Further Information Come and See

CELEBRATION
Many of our teenaged parishioners are enjoying the annual catechetical residential weekend at Thornton.  Our thanks to Fr Paul Hardy and his team for organising it all.  No doubt next month’s Vine will have the usual photos of them all leaping into the pool and covering each other with flour-bombs!  The joys of being a young Catholic in Milton Keynes!

MONEY MATTERS Having come through many years of debt, our parish currently has £80,364.76p lodged with the diocese.  We are well on the way with our saving towards our next project, the redecoration, rewiring and possible re-ordering of St Thomas Aquinas Church and Meeting Room, which are long overdue.  In a year or two we will have sufficient funds to proceed.  It is your ongoing generosity to the parish which has helped us to this healthy financial position.  May I thank you for all you give via the Offertory Collection and Gift Aid.

CLEANLINESS IS NEXT TO GODLINESS Many thanks to Jeanette Thomas, who has just given up washing the altar linen at All Saints Church after ten years of loyal service.  We welcome Eileen McCarthy to the team, as she has kindly taken on this role.  May I thank all parishioners who undertake important jobs ‘behind the scenes’ of parish life, which keep the show on the road!

FR MICHAEL and FR JOSEPH will take-up their new appointments on 1st October, at St Anthony’s, Slough and St Teresa’s, Princes Risborough, respectively.  Their last evening in Bletchley parish will be marked with a Mass of Thanksgiving followed by a social event.  Hence please keep the evening of Monday 30th September free in your diary.  Also, the previous two weekends will see each priest celebrating their final Masses in our three churches, so if you can’t make 30th September, you will still have a chance to say your farewell.

Meanwhile, your two new priests, Fr Christopher and Fr Prince are saying their farewells to their current congregations and are looking forward to taking-up their ministry in Bletchley.

May God Bless Us All

Fr Michael

MAY SHE REST IN PEACE
Alice Riddell, aged 93 years, late of Northampton whose funeral is Monday 2nd September, 11.30 am at the Oak Chapel, Crownhill.

ARE YOU THINKING OF BECOMING A CATHOLIC? In September we intend to run our annual “Journey in Faith” course of instruction, which will run through until Easter 2014.  We already have three people interested:  Jenny, Fortune and Marjorie, so the course will definitely go ahead.  The more the merrier, so if you fancy coming along to learn a little more about our wonderful Catholic faith, or even if you are just a little curious, please give your name to one of the clergy and/or look out for when the course will begin.
