Newsletter: 8th September 2013

PHOENIX YOUTH GROUP Our parish youth ministry for School Year 8’s and over regroups this Tuesday, 7 – 9 pm at St Thomas Aquinas Meeting Room.
A poignant meeting, this one, as our older youngsters, who have been loyal supporters of Phoenix for many years, head off to university.
As usual, don’t forget your £2. subs towards the pizza and doughnuts.

MAY HE REST IN PEACE
Arthur Hyatt, aged 83, late of Portishead Drive, Tattenhoe, whose Requiem Mass is on Thursday, 10 am at All Saints Church, coming into church on Wednesday at 5 pm.        Please remember Sheila, Keith and the family at this sad time.

‘COME AND SEE’ An invitation to Reconciliation and First Holy Communion 6.30 pm ~ Monday 16th September St Thomas Aquinas Meeting Room
This meeting is for those parents who would like to enrol their child in the First Holy Communion Programme.  This programme is for children living in our parish who are not attending our two parish schools and are currently in Year 3 or above.
The preparation will involve parents attending Mass regularly with their children.  The programme begins on Tuesday, 17th September and every Tuesday evening thereafter at 6 – 7 pm in All Saints Meeting Room. For Further Information~ Come and See.

THE BOXES OF ENVELOPES Sorry that they didn’t actually appear at St Thomas Aquinas Church last week after all the build-up in the Newsletter, urging you to collect your box. They are out today on the heaters, arranged alphabetically, with even more urgency to collect them, as they will be ‘whisked off’ to All Saints next Sunday.
Thank you for opting to use envelopes for your weekly offering to the parish.  If you would like to start using a box, please let the parish office know as we have plenty of spare boxes.

FAREWELL FR MICHAEL Next week’s Second Collection is for Fr Michael after his eleven years as our parish priest.  We hope to buy him a reclining chair as a leaving present.

May God Bless Us All

Fr Michael

THE VINE

Last week was a bit of a “Bletchley Special Edition” with pictures of your parish priest on both the front page and the sports page!  Also, our secondary school children were featured on their pilgrimage to Taize and our junior school children on their pilgrimage to Walsingham.  It was also the chance to ‘get a glimpse’ of our new Parish Priest, Fr Chris, clearly pleased with the news that he is coming to Bletchley, judging by his happy smile.
