Newsletter: 15th September 2013

WEDDING BELLS Our Blessings upon Glose Dias and Antoine Jean-Jean who were married on Saturday at All Saints.  (Glose has been our senior altar server at the 6.30 pm Mass for many years).  We wish them well.  Their wedding brings to a close our busy wedding schedule for 2013, no fewer than seventeen weddings this year.
Every blessing to them all

The Farewell Mass is on Monday, 30th September, 6 pm All Saints Church followed immediately by a social at Wilton Hall, Wilton Avenue, with live music, a little food, a bar and a chance to say “goodbye” to all three priests.  All are welcome to the Mass and the social, although we appreciate that a Monday is not the best night for a party.

Frs Michael and Joseph will ‘move out’ on Tuesday morning, with Frs Christopher and Prince ‘moving in’ that afternoon.  Fr Clement ‘heads back’ to Kenya on Wednesday.

MacMILLAN COFFEE MORNING 9.15 am Friday 27th September St Thomas Aquinas School All Welcome

TODAY’s SECOND COLLECTION is your parting gift to Fr Michael in thanksgiving for his eleven years of ministry as your Parish Priest.  Next week’s collection will be for Fr Joseph.

THE BOXES OF ENVELOPES Well done to those at St Thomas Aquinas who picked up their box last week.  Today the boxes are at All Saints Church, arranged alphabetically on the heaters.  Please stay behind for five minutes after Mass to locate your box.
Can’t find your box?  Would like a new box?  Please contact the parish office or give a note to one of the clergy and we’ll get a box out to you.

PHOENIX YOUTH GROUP A record 33 youngsters attended the most recent meeting, as we ‘bad farewell’ to the five members who now ‘head off’ to further education [Five Go Wild in University!].  Fr Christopher is keen to continue our successful youth ministry programme, which is such an important component in the life of any parish.  Personally, I believe the Phoenix Youth Group to be one of the jewels in the crown of Bletchley Parish, with a dedicated team of leaders and a fine bunch of young people who are a credit to their parents and to their parish.  Keep up the good work!  Next meeting is not until TUESDAY 8TH OCTOBER

NEW ALTAR SERVERS Another jewel in our crown is our fine team of altar servers, with no fewer than 50 (yes fifty) at the last count.  However, we can always squeeze another on to the sanctuary!  If you are in school year 4 or over and want to serve God in this way, please give your name to Bernard Guina, Robert Healy or one of the clergy and we will organise some training sessions for you.

PARISH FAYRE Advance Notice that our annual fayre will take place on Saturday 30th November at Lord Grey School at 12 noon.  A planning meeting is to be held on Monday 23rd September, 7 pm at St Thomas Aquinas Meeting Room.  All welcome, those already involved and those who wanted to be involved.

May God Bless Us All

Fr Michael
