THE GIVING TREE

Please take a tag from the Christmas Tree in church and buy a present for someone extra this year. Wrap it (if the item is not food), label it and return it under the tree. Your gift will be gratefully received by someone locally or overseas.

 

 

THE PARISH FAYRE

Excluding donations, the day made £2,724.51 which was £404.95 or 17.46% up on last year!

CHILDREN’S MASS and NATIVITY

Children in Reception, years 1, 2 and 3 who usually attend Children’s Liturgy will be invited to take part in the Nativity play which forms part of the 4.30 pm Mass at All Saints Church on Christmas Eve. Invitations, which include a date for a rehearsal, will be handed out shortly.

 

CONFIRMATION 2016

The Sacrament of Confirmation will be celebrated in the Parish by Bishop Peter on Tuesday 26th April at

7.30 pm..   There will be five preparation classes:

Friday 26th Feb, 4th/ 11th//18th March and 15th April. There will also be an away day at Thornton College “Blaze” on Saturday 23rd April 10.30- 5 pm (cost £5).Places are open to those in school years 7-11 but priority is given to those in year 7. SVP RETIRING COLLECTION today

 

CONGRATULATIONS to our children enrolled for the First Holy Communion program who celebrated the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) for the first time last week.

 

SVP THANK YOU: Just want to record our Thanks for your response to our recent appeal for assistance with a young Sudanese refugee. Your efforts have transformed what was a very bare flat indeed into what the young lady now describes as a ‘real home’. She wants you to know and realise how much she appreciates your generosity.

LEGION OF MARY

Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Praesidium in our Parish celebrated its 500th meeting last Tuesday.  The spirit of the Legion of Mary is that of Mary herself and the work undertaken within the Parish is only carried out at the request of the Parish Priest.

Weekly meetings are held on Tuesdays at 7.30 pm, All Saints Meeting Room, New members (men and women) are most welcome.  If you are interested in joining the Legion please contact the Parish Secretary for further information. God Bless always

 

 

 

THE SENIOR’S FESTIVE PARTY

Saturday 16th January 2016

If you would like to attend please take and complete an invitation, which you can find in the Sacristy. When completed please place them in the Christmas boxes kept the Sacristy. Places are limited and will be on a First Come First Served basis. A waiting list will be kept once we exceed our numbers.
