APPLICATIONS TO

BISHOP PARKER and ST THOMAS AQUINAS

SCHOOLS ~ September 2017

If you are currently getting a diary stamped for your child, please note you must complete a Supplementary Form for each Catholic School that you add as a choice. These are now available from each of the School Offices. Diaries need to be handed in to Fr Christopher after the 6pm Mass on Saturday 26th November or the 9am or 11am Mass on Sunday 27th November. If you have a sufficient record of Mass attendance then a reference will be sent directly to Bishop Parker or St Thomas Aquinas School. If your child was Baptised in the Parish there is no need to attach their Baptismal Certificate. References will be sent to parents in December/January and the schools will be ‘copied in’.  The supplementary forms can, therefore, be returned directly to school.

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR PARENTS:

SCHOOL ADMISSIONS 2018

If your child will be starting School in September 2018 and you require a reference from Fr Christopher to support an application to a Catholic Primary School, then you will need to register for a diary which is stamped at each Mass as a record of your child’s Church attendance. There will be a Registration evening for parents: 6 pm Wednesday 7th December – St Thomas Aquinas Church (MK2 2JE) Without a completed diary Fr Christopher is unable to issue references. (Diaries are not required for Catholic Secondary Schools). Copies of the Admission Policy for Bishop Parker School and St Thomas Aquinas School can be found on each school’s website.

DIOCESE OF NORTHAMPTON

EDUCATION SUNDAY.

We are celebrating Education Sunday by Executive Headteacher Robert Mundy giving us a ‘state of the nation’ update about our schools at Masses today. Faith schools have been a bit of a political football in recent times. Our Bletchley schools are strong, highly valued and oversubscribed. We are however finding it increasingly difficult to recruit Catholic teachers and the future of Catholic schools is threatened by the quality of Catholic teaching staff. We would like to consider sponsoring a local student teacher so that this teacher will come back and teach in our schools. We know of several student teachers who are past pupils and we would like to offer not only work experience opportunities but also some financial support. Do you know of a company or person who may be willing to help us with sponsorship? Do you know of any student teachers that we should consider for a sponsorship opportunity? Please apply by contacting us at the presbytery – contact details above. When we choose our student teacher we would like to have a second collection to start off the sponsorship funding. This will help cover just a little of the university expenses for our trainee teacher. We hope you can help support this worthy cause!
