THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK “We are to love God for Himself, because of a twofold reason; nothing is more reasonable, nothing more profitable.” St. Bernard of Clairvaux

50TH CELEBRATIONS
Next year is St Thomas Aquinas School’s 50th birthday.  Bishop Peter is coming in November to be with the children and there are other activities planned for them throughout the year. There are also two special events being laid on for parents, parishioners and past pupils.
MASS: On October 5th at 7 pm there will be Mass at school followed by refreshments – all are welcome.  Fr Michael Harrison and Mrs Mulholland, who were pupils when the school first opened, will be among the VIP guests.  If you are a past pupil and you are still in contact with other alumni/alumna, please pass on this invitation. We are limited by the size of the hall so please let the office know in September if you wish to attend.
OPEN EVENING: As part of our St Thomas Aquinas Feast Day celebrations, on 29th January from 5 pm until 8 pm, there will be an Open School Evening with tours laid on. Again, all are welcome. There will be galleries of photos and an opportunity to have a look around the school and to reminisce on your time here.
If you are a past pupil and you are willing to talk to children about your memories of your time here please let us know via the School Office.  Thank you.
