LIFT THE BAN ON CATHOLIC SCHOOLS:
“Protect Our Right to Choose a Catholic Education”
Do you support Catholic schools and the right of Catholics to send their children to them? Then we need you to make your voice heard. The Government is making a critical decision on whether to overturn the admissions cap which prevents Catholic schools from allowing all Catholic pupils to attend. They have acknowledged that this policy discriminates against Catholics and promised to abandon it, now we need you to tell them not to u-turn on their promise to Catholics.
Visit http://www.catholicnews.org.uk/education-cap or search for ‘Catholic Education’ in your search engine to write to the Government and urge them to drop their policy which bans new Catholic schools.

New Year’s Resolution
‘Make a Difference with CAFOD’
Try something that is calorie-free and not injurious to your health but can be life giving and joyful. We really need people to go into our Catholic schools to inspire students to act on their sense of justice. You don’t have to be a teacher to do this role, only a passion for CAFOD’s work and an ability to communicate with children and young people. Training, travel expenses, resources will be provided. Contact:
Northampton@cafod.org.uk or 01844 274 723
This year all money raised will be donated to
‘MISSIO’ (Red Boxes)
UPDATE ON SPUC POSTCARD CAMPAIGN
Boots, the high street retailer, seems to have postponed its provision of low cost morning-after pills, no doubt because of the opposition it received by way of SPUC’s postcards. Thanks to those who gave in a postcard to Boots.
NORTHAMPTON CATHEDRAL DEVELOPMENT CAMPAIGN
December 2017 update
Christmas has come early for our Cathedral Development Campaign with the wonderful news of a £66,000 grant from a Catholic Foundation, to help support the running costs of the proposed Centre. This is a huge encouragement to us all and builds on the amazing generosity of all our donors. On top of that we are delighted to report that the Capital fund stands at £2.39m … well on the way to our target of £3.2m. This includes a £25,000 grant from another Northamptonshire-based trust. If you would like to hear more about the project, please do get in touch with the Campaign Office on 01604 712065 or via email:
I would like to take this opportunity once again to thank you, our donors and supporters, for sharing our vision. On behalf of the team, I would like to wish you a happy and blessed Christmas and New Year. I look forward to updating you further in 2018. Best wishes from
Angela Madge, Campaign Administrator.
GIFTS TO YOUR PRIESTS
Many thanks for your kindness and generosity towards Fr Benedetto and myself, in the form of the Christmas offering. Fr Benedetto and I divide the money, which you kindly give us, 50:50 which provides us with a modest income until Easter. Deacon Noel joins us in also thanking you for your many cards and Christmas presents.
With every blessing for the week ahead
Fr Christopher Perry, Fr Benedetto D’Autilia, Deacon Noel Guina
