PLEASE NOTE …
The Easter Vigil is the First Mass of Easter and is the most important Liturgy in the Catholic Church. During this wonderful celebration the new light of Easter is brought into the Church as the Pascal Candle is lit from the Easter Fire. In procession we enter the darkened Church but the light of Christ’s Resurrection fill the darkness as our candles are lit from the Easter flame. The Scripture Readings tell of the History of our Salvation. At the Gloria bells are rung to announce that the Lord is Risen! During this Liturgy the Easter Water is blessed and Adult Catechumens are Baptised and Confirmed.
If you have never experienced this Liturgy or have not attended it for some time we strongly encourage you to come!

PLEASE PRAY FOR OUR CATECUMENS …

After completing the Journey in Faith Programme, Marek, Janos, Lesha & Chun will be Baptised and receive the Sacrament of Confirmation at the Easter Vigil. Emilda & Adrain will be received into full Communion with the Catholic Church and also receive the Sacrament of Confirmation at the Easter Vigil. Please support them with your prayers.

CHANGES FOR EXTRA-ORDINARY MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION
A gentle reminder to those who have completed the recent training… Please come forward and stand before the Altar after the Lamb of God is said or sung. Line up as the priest says “Behold the lamb of God…” After the bell is rung (or after the priest has received from the Chalice) come and stand at both sides of the Altar.
After Communion Hosts are returned to the Altar and Chalices to the credence table by the side of the Altar on the Sanctuary. Please then return to your seats while the Clergy cleanse the sacred vessels with water.

RECEIVING HOLY COMMUNION
A reminder that in England and Wales you are permitted to receive Communion either in the hand or directly on the tongue. If however you are holding a child in your arms or one hand is impeded please receive directly on the tongue.
When receiving on the hand please hold out both hands and do not take the Host from the priest / minister with your fingers, instead allow the Host to be placed in your hands.
Please consume the host in front of the priest / minister before either going to receive from the chalice or returning to your seat.
Self intinction (dipping the host in the Chalice) is never permitted in the Catholic Church.
