RECEIVING HOLY COMMUNION
A reminder that in England and Wales you are permitted to receive Communion either in the hand or directly on the tongue. If however you are holding a child in your arms or one hand is impeded please receive directly on the tongue.
When receiving on the hand please hold out both hands and do not take the Host from the priest / minister with your fingers, instead allow the Host to be placed in your hands.
Please consume the host in front of the priest / minister before either going to receive from the chalice or returning to your seat.
Self intinction (dipping the host in the Chalice) is never permitted in the Catholic Church.
If you are not a Catholic then please do come forward to receive a blessing placing your arms across your chest.
