POPE FRANCIS’ PRAYER INTENTION FOR SEPTEMBER 2018
Please join Pope Francis this month in praying for: Young People in Africa
That young people in Africa may have access to education and work in their own countries.
LETTER OF HIS HOLINESS POPE FRANCIS TO THE PEOPLE OF GOD. “Pope Francis has responded to new reports of clerical sexual abuse and the ecclesial cover-up of abuse. In an impassioned letter addressed to the whole People of God, he calls on the Church to be close to victims in solidarity, and to join in acts of prayer and fasting in penance for such atrocities.”

TAKING A BREAK FOR SUMMER
Children’s Liturgy at 6pm Vigil, 9am & 11am Mass and our Music Group at the 6pm Vigil & 11am Mass are now taking a summer break and will resume in September. Parents are very welcome to use the Church Meeting Room during Mass if young children become restless. Diaries for School Admissions will continue to be stamped as normal.

WELCOME BACK FR CLEMENT
Fr Clement is with us until the end of September and is very keen to meet new parishioners as well as old ones. If you would like him to call in for a visit, a house blessing or a meal etc please contact the Parish Office.

DO YOU WANT TO BECOME A CATHOLIC?
If you are considering becoming a Catholic, or would like a bit of a refresher, then please contact the Parish Office and Register for the 2018-19 “Journey in Faith Course”. The Course will begin on Thursday 6th September 2018 at St Thomas Aquinas Church, 7.30 – 9 pm and will continue on Thursday evenings until Easter 2019.
Weekly Sunday Mass attendance is essential for those who desire to be received into the Church at Easter 2019.

MOTHERS’ PRAYER GROUP

This group meets once a month on a Saturday
3:00-5:00pm at St Thomas Aquinas Meeting Room.

DEMENTIA Friendly MASS
3 pm Tuesday 25th September: St Thomas Aquinas
An opportunity for those with Dementia and their carers to come together to celebrate Mass and spend some time together in a friendly and supportive environment.
All are very welcome to attend.

FAITH VOLUNTEERS are being sought at HMP Woodhill, where Fr Anton is full time Catholic chaplain. The Chaplaincy Department is a dynamic multi-faith team of chaplains and volunteers with a passionate belief in the role of faith in the rehabilitation of the men in their care. Would you consider joining them as a volunteer in the varying areas of prayer, music, bereavement and counselling support, social visits, admin support, etc? There will be an Open Day there on Wednesday 25th September, 11:30-14:30. To attend or to learn more, please call 01908 722000, asking for the Woodhill Chaplaincy Department or email:
