HELP US DRILL A BORE HOLE FOR KENYA
Fr Clements’s Parish outside Nairobi desperately needs a water source and are raising funds to drill a bore hole in the Church compound. The water will be an important supply for the St Daniel Comboni Parish School and the parish run health centre. Can you help? There will be a second collection next weekend. Please give generously if you can.

DIOCESAN TRAINING DAYS FOR CHILDREN’S LITURGISTS AND PARISH READERS
The Diocesan Liturgy Commission are holding a training day to explore the theology concerning children’s liturgy of the word. On Saturday October 6that Holy Ghost Parish centre, Luton all those who are engaged with children’s liturgy, either new or experienced leaders are invited to attend. Also, a readers reflection day is scheduled for Saturday 3rd November at Holy Ghost Parish Centre. This day will specifically focus on the year of Luke beginning in Advent 2018. An opportunity for those with Dementia and their carers to come together to celebrate Mass and spend some time together in a friendly and supportive environment.

FAITH VOLUNTEERS are being sought at HMP Woodhill, where Fr Anton, Parish Priest of Winslow, is the full time Catholic chaplain. The Chaplaincy Department is a dynamic multi-faith team of chaplains and volunteers with a passionate belief in the role of faith in the rehabilitation of the men in their care. Would you consider joining them as a volunteer in the

THOMAS TOT’S
Due to ongoing building work at St Thomas Aquinas School, Thomas Tot’s will be held at St Thomas Aquinas Meeting room from Thursday 13th September until further notice. All Pre-School Children are welcome, donation £1 per child.

Workshop to Help Recruit Volunteers on
Friday 19th October To help address the issues surrounding the running of volunteer organisations, Avril Baigent (the Diocesan Pastoral Ministry Adviser) will be returning to Fr Wayne Coughlin’s parishes in Bedford to lead a workshop and discussion about how to recruit and support volunteers, whilst also looking at succession planning. The day will cover why people volunteer, getting new people involved in parish life and dealing with ‘tricky’ situations. If you are a leader of a group and are unable to attend perhaps you could send a representative? The day is being held at Holy Cross Church (355 Goldington Road, MK41 0DP) from 10:30am to 4:30pm. There is plenty of parking! Please bring something for lunch; refreshments will be served throughout the day. You may be interested to know that there is Mass at 9:30am and that this followed by Adoration until 10:30am.
