POPE FRANCIS’ PRAYER INTENTIONS FOR FEBRUARY 2019: Universal – Victims

THE DOWRY TOUR OF OUR LADY OF WALSINGHAM
During the course of 2018 to 2020 the statue of Our Lady of Walsingham from the Slipper Chapel at the Catholic National Shrine and Basilica will be taken to each Cathedral for a three-day triduum of prayer, as part of the preparation for the re-dedication of England as the Dowry of Mary in 2020. The Statue will be at Northampton Cathedral from 5pm on Thursday 7th February 2019 until the closing Mass at 12noon on Saturday 9th February 2019.

A coach will be leaving All Saints Church, Bletchley, at 8am on Saturday the 9th February so that we will be able to attend devotions and Mass at the Cathedral. The Coach should leave the Cathedral at 1:30pm to return to Bletchley by 2:30pm. You may wish to take something to eat and drink with you. CHANGES TO THE WEEKLY MASS SCHEDULE
In order to visit the Cathedral for the Dowry Tour of our Lady of Walsingham please note that there will be NO 9:30am Mass on Saturday at St Thomas Aquinas Church on the 9th February and that 10am Confessions will be heard at 4:30pm instead.

BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT GROUP
Do you miss someone? Would you like to talk about it? Our Parish Bereavement Group gives you the safe space to share your grief following the loss of a loved one. We listen and talk about those who are gone and reflect on our faith to guide us through.

CELEBRATION 2019
Application forms for Celebration ’19 are available from your priest. Now in its 42nd year Celebration explores issues in Christian faith through discussion, drama, games and prayer. Its open to all Catholic youngsters in Milton Keynes in school years 6-13 Residential, It is held at Thornton Convent over the August Bank Holiday weekend, and all the school’s sporting facilities are available.

THINKING THEOLOGY LECTURE
St Paul’s Catholic School, Leadenhall, invites you to a lecture entitled “Henceforth All Generations Will Call Me Blessed”, about the place of Our Lady in the Scriptures by Fr Pius on Monday 25th February at 7pm, in the Chapel. Admission free.

WORLD DAY OF PRAYER
This year there will be two services to celebrate the World Day of Prayer. The theme this year is ‘Come Everything is Ready’, and is prepared by the women of Slovenia. One service is being held at the Church of Christ the Cornerstone on Friday 1st March, 12.30pm to 1.30pm. The organisers are looking for people to participate in the service, readers and non readers. The second is being held at Christ the King, Kents Hill at 7.30pm. The services will include readings and hymns. All are very welcome.

2019 SPUC YOUTH CONFERENCE
The annual youth conference of the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC) will take place from 15-17 March 2019, at Kents Hill Park Training and Conference Centre, Milton Keynes. For young people aged 16 upwards. See poster and flyers at the back of Church for further information.

DIOCESEAN CENTRE – FUNDRAISING UPDATE
The Diocese has received the news that planning and listed building consent has been granted to Northampton Cathedral for the new Diocesan Centre. Building work will begin in the next few weeks and it is anticipated to take around a year to complete. Thanks to all in our Parish who have supported and contributed to this fundraising Campaign. The Centre will be an important resource for our Diocese and Cathedral in the years ahead.
