POPE FRANCIS’ PRAYER INTENTIONS FOR MARCH 2019: Evangelization: Recognition of the Right of Christian Communities That Christian communities, especially those who are persecuted, feel that they are close to Christ and have their rights respected.

SUMMIT ON THE PROTECTION OF MINORS IN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH Following the summit in Rome, two weeks ago, involving the Pope and the Presidents of the Bishops’ Conferences, the Bishops of England and Wales have published online their response as well as the “concrete initiatives” which emerged from the summit. These can be viewed at: http://www.catholicew.org.uk/Home/Featured/Vatican-Meeting-on-the-Protection-of-Minors

SAFEGUARDING
As you are aware the Catholic Church takes its responsibility for safeguarding our young and vulnerable adults very seriously. Periodically we audit our safeguarding records to ensure that they are complete. We would therefore be grateful if all leaders of the groups that are active as part of our parish would register their name, group and contact details with Marie Day, our safeguarding representative. Marie’s email address is mdparishrep@gmail.com

PRAYER OF HEALING FOR THE
VICTIMS OF ABUSE IN THE CHURCH

God of endless love,
ever caring, ever strong,
always present, always just:
You gave your only Son
to save us by the blood of his cross.

Gentle Jesus, shepherd of peace,
join to your own suffering
the pain of all who have been hurt
in body, mind, and spirit
by those who betrayed the trust placed in them.

Hear our cries as we agonize
over the harm done to our brothers and sisters.
Breathe wisdom into our prayers,
soothe restless hearts with hope,
steady shaken spirits with faith:
Show us the way to justice and wholeness,
enlightened by truth and enfolded in your mercy.

Holy Spirit, comforter of hearts,
heal your people’s wounds
and transform our brokenness.
Grant us courage and wisdom, humility and grace,
so that we may act with justice
and find peace in you.
We ask this through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

MASS STIPENDS FOR AFRICA
Fr Francis, the Parish Priest of St Agatha’s Parish in Mongu, Zambia, has kindly offered to say a Mass for your intentions. St Thomas Aquinas & All Saints Parish has been supporting St Agatha’s Parish over a number of years through our Parish charity Sepo. There is very little income to support the priests in the Parish and Mass Stipends for your Intentions would go a long way to help. If you would like a Mass said by Fr Francis please: Write your name on an envelope. Write what / who your intention is for and enclose an offering. We suggest a donation £10 per Mass. Please mark the Envelope “SEPO”. The envelope can be placed in the collection basket, handed in at the Parish Office or given to Fr Christopher or Fr Benedetto.

CAFOD Coffee Morning, Raffle & Pound stall raised £105. Many thanks for your generosity.
