YOUR SERVICE TO THE CHURCH
As baptised members of the Church each of us is part of the body of Christ and all of us are called to serve Him in the world. We are the hands and feet of Jesus remembering in our prayer that God has no hands and feet but ours. God is continually calling us to build His Kingdom of love, peace and justice. We serve God and His people in a variety ways and in diverse and varied contexts. Our work for God is our service; we are not just volunteers but joyful servants of the Lord rejoicing in His presence among us. Our most important work is that of prayer and worship, praising God and loving our neighbour. There are also practical ways we can contribute to the life of our Parish.

We would like to take this opportunity to invite you to consider if God might be calling you to serve His Church in a specific and practical way alongside our life of prayer and worship. Next weekend we will be giving each Parishioner a form with a list of areas of Parish life you may feel called to be part of or participate in. Please take time in your prayers this week to ask God how He is calling you to serve Him and what skills, talents and gifts you can offer to the Body of Christ.

God of mercy,
unite your Church in the Holy Spirit
that we may serve you with all our hearts
and work together with unselfish love.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. AMEN
