WELCOME BACK FR CLEMENT
Our good friend Fr Clement has arrived from Kenya and will be spending a couple of months with us in the parish as he enjoys some rest and relaxation and provides some cover while Fr Benedetto and Fr Christopher take some time off. Fr Clement is very keen to meet new parishioners as well as old ones. If you would like him to call in for a visit, a house blessing or a meal etc please contact the Parish Office.
…HELLO TO FR EMMANUEL OKAMI

He has a wealth of experience and we look forward to welcoming him as our new Assistant Priest in September. We pray he will be very happy amongst us here in Bletchley.
BLESSED JOHN HENRY NEWMAN:
Rome on 13 October 2019
Newman (21 February 1801 – 11 August 1890), born in London, was an Oxford University academic, poet and theologian. Originally an Anglican priest, and later a Catholic priest and cardinal, he was an important figure in the religious history of England in the 19th century. In 1845 Newman officially left the Church of England and his teaching post at Oxford University and was received into the Catholic Church. Following ordination as a priest he became an influential religious leader, based in Birmingham. In 1879, he was created a cardinal by Pope Leo XIII in recognition of his services to the cause of the Catholic Church in England. In 1854 he was instrumental in the founding of the Catholic University of Ireland, which became University College, Dublin.
This is the first in a series of articles about John Henry Newman before his canonisation on 13 October 2019.
