Farewell but not Goodbye

Three years ago Fr Emmanuel arrived here in Bletchley as our new Assistant Priest. Since that time he has become a great friend as well as a faithful pastor to us all and we have all benefited greatly from his wisdom, preaching, pastoral care and sacramental ministry. We are delighted that his contribution to our Parish and Diocese have been recognised by Bishop David who has appointed Fr Emmanuel as the Parish Priest of St Augustine’s, Milton Keynes. St Augustine’s will continue to work closely with the St Barnabas Cluster but with Fr Emmanuel as its own independent Parish Priest. He will take up his appointment on Sunday, 21st August. Fr Emmanuel officially completes his ministry in our parish on 24th July but he will continue to help me until 14th August. Although we will greatly miss Fr Emmanuel we are delighted that he is still with us in Milton Keynes: a place he has made his home. We shall support Fr Emmanuel with our prayers and with our practical assistance in this time of transition. Bishop David will appoint The Rev Jithu James as our new Assistant Priest here in Bletchley following his Ordination to the Priesthood.

May our Blessed Lady, St Joseph, St Thomas Aquinas, St Augustine, and all the Saints, pray for us.

Father Christopher and Fr Emmanuel
