When a priest offers Holy Mass, he has three intentions: First, to offer the Mass reverently and validly in accord with the norms of the Church. Second, to offer the Mass in union with the whole Church and for the good of the whole Church. Third, to offer the Mass for a particular intention, such as the repose of the soul of someone who has died.
If you would like a Mass offered for your intention, at the discretion of the Parish Clergy, please contact Jo in the office to check if the date you would like is available. Due to a very high demand and less available clergy it is unlikely that a Mass can be offered straight away, normally Mass Intentions are usually booked up for about three months at a time. We would advise you to organise Mass intentions as early as possible to avoid disappointment. We print the list of Mass Intentions (the ‘pink sheet’) every week and this is posted at the back of Church. Please note that funerals take priority and may occasionally cause the Mass schedule and intention to be changed at short notice: thank you for your understanding. Donations for Mass intentions can be given to Jo at the Parish Office, to the clergy, or placed in the Sunday collection. Please place your donation in an envelope with your name, the name of the person for whom the Mass is offered and what the Intention is for: for example: get well, thanksgiving, RIP etc and the date of the Mass if you have already arranged this with the Parish Office.
